The way in which individuals conduct themselves in a foreign
situation is an issue facing many companies who have to
send an increasing number of managers abroad on a work related
assignment. Alternatively, companies may need their employees
who work locally to have a better understanding of and empathy
with their foreign clients.
Dealing with diversity is all about adapting to new ways
and new ideas as well as examining new approaches to already
familiar practises. There are many differences, large and
small, between the way individuals around the world think,
communicate, work and socialise and the person either travelling
abroad for the first time, or dealing with foreign clients
on a regular basis, needs to be informed about these differences.
